Abstract

|
Effect plant growth regulators (IAA, GAS, BA, ethephon, and ABA) on growth of soybean sprouts was studied. The most effective chemical was BA only. While only whole plant treatment with BA 25 ppm was significantly reduced the no. of lateral roots and resulted in an increase in the diameter in both the hypocotyl and hook of soybean sprouts, little was found in the plants treated at a part. Among the tested water irrigation times, 2hrs after BA spray was the most effective. Dipping in BA at 5ppm was found to be the most effective treatment for inhibiting the lateral root development and stimulated growth in soybean sprouts. This concentration is a reduction of 88% of active ingredient of Indole-B (IAA 25+BA 16.7 ppm) which has been used at sprouting time in soybean sprouts.
